Carnival 2015: looks and hairstyles trends for this year

Haven’t you chosen a Carnival costume for this year yet? We have some suggestions, to be cool and funny!

We’re just in mid-February but the Carnival has already arrived this year! Which look can surprise our friends ?!

We know that during Carnival time we can mask ourselves with other identities, to bring out our alter ego and turn into “types” with characters completely different from daily routine: it is a celebration where chaos reigns for a few days before returning to the order and to normal.

Carnival, therefore, is the best time to show off crazy makeup and hair stylings and possibilities are many: these are just some of the several ideas that we can copy and customize, in order to avoid the most classic and boring costumes!

1) Fashionable Carnival in Asian and African style

For example, we can get inspiration from the proposals we saw on the latest runways: exotic style dominated and its looks are easily replicable at home too!

Very popular is the oriental style that reflects the colours and hairstyles of geisha: to achieve this look we have to start from the make-up abounding with face powder, pink blush and eyeliner that lengthens the look, and polish our hair with modeling oils to create chignon embellished with colourful flowers. Finish the costume with a kimono with floral patterns.

Even animalier had its space, so create our outfit that recall African nature, leopards and zebras, with spotted and black and white stripes patterns. Besides clothing, we can play a lot with both the hairstyle and makeup: for the hairstyle, it is better to opt for an high ponytail as to make ultra-smooth with an anti-frizz spray, so we can decorate the face with coloured pencils and draw mustaches, noses etc.

2) Music Carnival

Swing, rock, pop…what kind of music do we prefer? It could be really original using these styles for our carnival costume!

If we love the sophisticated swing, we can wear a short dress to the knee with flared and fluttering skirt (best in red, blue or white), make up on eyes and lips, add a fake neo near our mouth and, finally, style our hair with volumizing products, adorning them with little combs and hair bands. The accessory to make us irresistible might be a mask decorated with a flower to the side: for a glamorous touch!

If we go crazy for the 60’s the perfect costume is inspired by hippies: light blue jeans, ripped and riddled, fringes and vest, guitar and hair in the wind, decorated with flowers.

If our genre is punk, we can recover that forgotten old skirt in tartan in the closet and match it to a t-shirt with skulls; we can realize a smokey eyes make up, maybe with fake eyelashes, and opt for a strong hairstyle: an example? Divide hair with a middle row, create frisè (but, because the heat stress hair, remind us to apply a thermo-active cream before iron) and pick them up in two pigtails side.

3) Carnival in cartoon style

Cartoons and comics always offer several ideas for costumes: so even in Carnival you can take them as models for outfits out of the ordinary!

We can use, as a reference, pop art paintings: clothing colours has to be strong, with skirts and jackets with a linear cut. The make-up has to be invasive: marked eyebrows, fake eyelashes, lips in a red-orange colour and, finally, many ordered small spots on face, which recall realistically the comics tables. To complete the look, the hair should be fluffy and shining with lighting products that catch the light.
