lavender essential oil

Lavender essential oil

Lavender is a plant originating from Europe and its flowers have a delicate lilac-blue colour.

In Italy the most common variety is the Lavandula Officinalis, an aromatic herbaceous plant with a sweet and harmonizing scent, valuable for its essential oil and for its many benefits.

In ancient Rome the essence was known for body and hair fragrances, but it is in 1928 that a French chemist realized its therapeutic power in soothing sunburn, wounds and burns.

Today the lavender essential oil is a natural active ingredient used in aromatherapy for its relaxing fragrance, to refresh the home environment, into bath essences and to relax muscles during massages.

Also, it has effective antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory, cicatrizing and regenerating tissues actions: it soothes sunburns, it is a remedy for beauty flaws and cellulite, it balances sebum in the skin and greasy hair, it has calming effects on the nervous system, decreasing anxieties and facilitating sleeping; it is, therefore, a great friend for the skin of adults and children.
